An Antiquing Affair

Canal Street in Stamford is the mecca for beautiful finds. Whether you are looking for art, accessories or furniture, you can always count on these galleries to make your trip worth while.
After all, Connecticut is the destination for antiquing. Here a few things that caught my eye.
A pair of lovely lamps with Black Silk shades.

Oil paintings make a home feel traveled, cultured and cozy.

No need for wallpaper when you have art work.

Sketches with unique frames make this wall interesting.

Vintage jewelry.

Great for the hallway or a powder room and it's fun!

French Antique love seat and armoire.

Fabulous set of retro style mirrors.

I love mirrors! Love the China Cobalt Blue bird lamp.

Parrot plates on the wall--something to add a touch of color to your home.

Pretty show pieces.

Murano glass lamps.

La Dolce Vita

The back gardens of the hotel.

So, I was surprised when my husband and I were taking a trip to Venice for our anniversary. I came home from the office, knew something was going on since our dog was MIA and there it was a book on touring Venice- S-U-R-P-R-I-S-E! It really was a nice trip and it really is as romantic as it's all hyped up to be. I guess it's the gondolas and the water setting all around you. We stayed at a very beautiful hotel with Murano glass chandeliers in every room, corridor and hallway. The nicest part of the hotel was the private garden that led you to waterfalls, fountains and even caves! The best part of it all? Was the food, of course. Ciao!
